Explore the Southeast Texas Wine Map on the Bluebonnet wine trail. Bluebonnet Country encompasses the area between the Houston metropolitan area and Austin, including College Station and Bryan. The landscape of the region is gently rolling to hilly and can be described as oak savannah, where patches of oak woodland are interspersed with vineyards. All of the Bluebonnet wine trail member wineries are located in close proximity to the greater Houston area. Located between I-45 and U.S. Highway 290, visitors will find seven wineries spread out over the beautiful landscape.
Bernhardt Winery
Enjoy some of this beautiful landscape at the Bernhardt Winery on the Bluebonnet Texas wine map, a one-of-a-kind boutique winery. They have a small production of classic varietals and unique blends reminiscent of the countryside in Tuscany. This Tuscan-style tasting room sits atop a hill and overlooks miles and miles of hills and valleys. Bernhardt Winery carries traditional wine merchandise, along with fine jellies, jams and sauces. Next time you’re nearby, plan to stay overnight in Bernhardt’s Loft, a cozy Bed & Breakfast above the winery. If you stop by on a Sunday evening you can savor a glass of wine along with a lawn concert, offered from mid-April through mid-November.
Messina Hof Winery
A popular winery on the Texas wine map is Messina Hof. They were voted Top All-Around Winery at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and Best of the Herd at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Wine Competition. Peach Creek Vineyards
Peach Creek Vineyards is conveniently located between College Station and Navasota, just off SH 6, on the Texas wine map. An abundance of wildlife can be observed while enjoying their handcrafted wines on the sunset deck of the event pavilion. Peach Creek offers five acres of vineyards, along with a tasting room and large event pavilion. Guests are invited to visit the Peach Creek Vineyards Tasting Room and sample one of a half-dozen varieties of wine, with selections of red blends, muscat offerings, and a white made from Chenin blanc grapes.
Perrine Winery
Plan a trip on the Texas wine map at Perrine Winery to relax after a long day with a glass of wine. Perrine Winery has an intimate and friendly atmosphere and is great for small parties or get-togethers. A family owned small-batch artisan winery with over 55 wines. Many have won medals at international and regional competitions. Because of the award winning wine they have a wide variety of wines ranging from robust reds and crisp whites, refreshing fruit infused wines, dessert wines, to bubbly wines on tap. Enjoy a tasting, glass, or bottle of wine over our meat and cheese plate or bring in your own food.
Saddlehorn Winery
Saddlehorn Winery is located on a 360-acre ranch in Burton, Texas, halfway between Houston and Austin, one mile off of highway 290. Burton is in Washington County, the heart of the Texas wine map. Not far from tourist attractions in both Brenham and Round Top. The winery and tasting room were established in the renovated horse barn. Enjoy more than a dozen varieties of red and white wines to choose from, you can sip estate-grown Blanc du Bois and Black Spanish or choose another wine varietal crafted at Saddlehorn.
