I recently stopped at the Boiler House Grill & Wine Garden, located in the Pearl District of San Antonio, they provide a taste of artfully prepared, gourmet Texas Hill Country fare that is sourced from surrounding farms and ranches. What a list of wines they have and their staff is just amazing. Give them a try. The PINEAPPLE SALMON JARDIN salad is far from lite. It is a generous display of carrot, asparagus, green bean, summer squash, cauliflower, local lettuce with a just the right size piece of salmon.

As I was waiting for my colleagues, my server kept me company. We talked about wines and tasting and that the Boiler House has wine tasting events for their employees so they can learn and understand what they serve. This is a great advantage to their customers who will be sure to get exactly what they are asking for. The drink menu is ample for whiskey and wine drinkers, and there is a very respectable collection of Texas beers as well. The happy hour drink offerings have recently expanded (woohoo!) and the 50% off deal for small plates is one of the best happy hour deals at the Pearl. Upon a second visit I have to say the food here is just subtly amazing. Not a lot of crazy flavors but you can tell that the quality of food is extremely high and the flavor reflects that.
The burger is 8 oz and juicy all the way through and topped with thick cut Bacon. I enjoyed every bite of it. Just extremely good food made well. The potatoes were roasted in a assortment of spices and for one that is not a huge fan of potatoes, I finished every last bit.
The cake at the end might have stolen the show though. My brain was exploding with so many different flavors to enjoy from the toffee pudding to the Carmel to the creme anglaise. Had to keep eating just to figure out everything that I was tasting!
