P!nk – My Winespill
Pink
Pink is more than a color. She is a movement, a rebel, a philanthropist, and a professional singer and she grows her own grapes at a Vineyard in Santa Barbara, California. I think we can assume what is in her glass when she sings, “Raise Your Glass.” Prost!
Pink, otherwise known as, Alecia Beth Moore, is growing Bordeaux varieties on an 18-acre organic vineyard. She is learning the wine business and has made pilgrimages to wine regions all over the world. Vineyards in Bordeaux, Australia, Napa, South Africa, Paso Robles, and the Central Coast. After taking winemaking courses at the University of California, Davis, Pink took up the hobby of wine. Working alongside her team she puts in long hours and learned the hard work of farming grapes. She took the journey into discovering wines and experiencing the labor and attention to detail of another kind of art form to produce wine at her wine estate, Two Wolves.
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque countryside lies a hidden gem that beckons wine enthusiasts and wanderers alike. Two Wolves Winery, a haven of craftsmanship and passion, invites you to join their tribe and embark on an unforgettable journey through the world of fine wines. With a dedication to quality, innovation, and a deep connection to nature, this winery offers more than just a sip of wine; it offers an experience that transcends time and space.
A Tale of Two Wolves: The Essence of the Winery
The name “Two Wolves” carries a profound significance, drawn from an ancient Cherokee parable that reflects the duality of human nature. It speaks of two wolves, one embodying darkness – anger, envy, greed – and the other representing light – kindness, empathy, love. The question arises: which wolf wins? The answer is simple yet profound – the one you feed.
This ethos is intricately woven into the fabric of Two Wolves Winery. Just as in the parable, the winery embraces the duality of winemaking – tradition and innovation, old-world charm and modern techniques – nurturing the qualities that lead to exceptional wines. The wines crafted here are more than a mere concoction; they are a reflection of the winemaker’s heart and soul.
Two Wolves is a story Pink tells on her website that is a cautionary tale we all should hear time and time again. I love to quote her here,
“We hope that our wines inspire you to slow down, come together, and make some beautiful memories.”
-alecia moore, wino
I have found many of the Texas Hill Country wineries to embody the same “come together” motto and I have made some beautiful memories as well.
Although her 2019 bottling is already sold out, I will try to one day try her wines. As I’ve read her website you can see her passion to succeed is evident in her wine production as it was for her singing career.
Pink wrote songs about her life and the hardships she endured, expressing herself through her experience. With her second love of wine, she studied and learned how to express what she was tasting in wines with a new language of the winemaker. She is not at all afraid of the hard work of farming the land and planting roots for her family.
Has it been 3 years since this original post? They have flown by, and a new grape was harvested in 2020. Graciano was just bottled in March of 2021 and is ready for purchase. Their grenache grape was picked before the intense heat waves that defined the 2020 vintage of rosé. You must join her tribe to be eligible to purchase and because of the limited production, there is no guarantee the wine will be available. But, oh, what if you are a lucky one! P!nk
And yet another three years have passed, it is time to join the tribe.
